Lets see the highest miles/km factory turbos

I just bought a used 22 with 2600 kms and I was a bit apprehensive about it, but looks like theres no reason I shouldn’t be able to get a good bit of use outa her yet! Im religious about warming it up. My sleds don’t move an inch until the cooler is warm to the touch.

    Any gas fireplace guys

Is it leaking gas on the piping connections or is the gas valve on with no flame? My gas fireplace has a pilot light on all the time, im pretty sure it wont let gas out with out a flame present. But ive never tried. Also, if you end up having to yank it out, could you go out the back wall...

    any caterpillar techs on here?

Nice ! Good to see you gotter beat. I always thought that it seemed wasteful to pump hot exhaust outside, so I was going to try to make some sort of heat capture method before the exhaust exited the trailer. Either run it thru a length of corrugated exhaust flex inside another tube with a fan...

850 ETEC, anyone break 5,000km yet?

Yep. Warm up is a big part. My sleds don’t move at all until the cooler is warm to the touch. Never had an issue. See tons ( maybe most) people pull into the lot, whip open the trailer door, fire up the sleds and immediately move them out. Thats still like 4500-6000 Rpm even just “taking it...

    any caterpillar techs on here?

Crazy alternative idea. Since I was just seeing these on Vevor website at like $150, cheap like borche. Use a cheap chinese diesel fired heater just blowing warm air into the engine bay with a tarp over it. Like not built in , just set there for overnight kinda thing. You set it up at night...

Right where this valve is tied in there should also be another 1/2” plug 90 degrees to it in the top surface of the head. There both the same galley. If you take them both out you would see thru both to the other.

    Neither of these is coolant.

FYI those 1/2” plugs you see on the Aftercooler are Not coolant. You will have big problems if you tie coolant into them. 😆

Heres a decent pic of a heater install. Most should have these same ports. Probably 1/2” NPT. So in these pics I assume they put a 1/2 to 1” swedge to use larger hose.

    any caterpillar techs on here?

Im not 100% sure on a diesel, but on a Natural gas 3306, they have a separate circuit after cooler (SCAC), meaning two different cooling circuits. Probably not the case but something to be aware of. There should be several ports that are 1/2” NPT in and around the water pump. T-stat, oil cooler...

    Back surgery

I listen to The Joe Rogan podcast and He talks about stem cell treatments for injuries such as back problems. I don’t know much about it, But I suspect its very expensive and I believe it has to happen in Mexico or other countries outside the US. But apparently its life changing for those who...

    Cybertruck

The thing that makes sense to me is the diesel generator can run at or near 100% load, where they are more efficient and the engine can operate in its happy zone. Instead of a typical truck engine that makes 5-600 HP only using 30-40% capacity just to cruise for alot of its time or worse idle...
