Alright, well that makes sense to me. Haven't played with it since Thursday night when it started up and i ran it up. I will mention that during the whole run up the oil light flickered on and off the whole time. I know when i readjusted the carbs that i didn't readjust the oil cable.
After...
Well, i ended up going straight to drilling to come back inside to find this post.. DAMN
Soo got it all put back together, and adjusted the air screws to 1 1/2 turns out. Took a few pulls to get the carbs full of fuel again, and took some more time adjusting the idle. Didn't seem to want to run...
Hey Modman,
No its just the tip left in there. I hit it with a bit of a punch last night without any luck. I'm a little iffy about trying to drill it, as the seat should be tapered. HMMM
I'm not sure why it won't fall out, but even tryed giving it a bit of a push with a pick and nothing. The Ski-doo book says my carbs are "TM 40-B247" sooo 40mm carb?
The rest of the air screw is out, (threads and all) just the sharp tip of the air screw is in there it seems. On the Pto side, you can see a spot for the tip to go. On the Mag side, that tip seems broken off and stuck inside the carb still. The difference in length between the two air screws is...
After further inspection, the air screw on the mag side is broken off, and it seems what broke off is still stuck in the carb. Am i safe to try and drill this out? and replace the air screw? Just the tip of the air screw is broken. The Pto is still good.
Ok, well finally was about to look at the carbs last night and went to go put them back together. In doing so, found on one of the slides (mag side) that the spring was broken. Replaced it together and the slides were pulling at the same time together, when i looked it at before i saw that the...
We all saw the pictures of the "new factory short block"... soo far i'm into this for a NEW factory short block, new head, new stator, and pick up coils. The carbs look like they could use some help... but just gonna clean them and toss them back together. I'd like to get one ride in before all...
Well decided to put my purse down tonight and give it a good pull, came up with 115psi on each side. Decided to take the carbs off next, and found some nice gas residue inside the intake. Decided to pull the carbs apart since i've yet to do it since i've owned the sled, and not likely the...
I didn't run it up with the rad cap off when i started it up. I went out there this evening and changed the spark plugs to the new ones i had. Also did a compression test and came up with 80 and 100 on the pto and mag side.
The sled did the same thing, turned over and would fire up for a...
Alright, so went outside this morning and bled the oil pump, came dripping out there slowly, but not a steady stream. Didn't see any air in the main line, so figured good to go.
Pulled out the spark plugs and checked them, slightly oily and wet. cleaned them off and put them back in...
Alright, well got the engine all back together, a little bit of messing around with the exhaust manifold, but got it on. A few pulls later and she started up. Didn't want to idle too well at first, and kept beeping at me. Changed Dess cords back and forth a few times, and it seemed to warm up...
Yes, indeed. Right in the center of the motor. I ended up googling the same question and got the same answer. Put the fuel line on and messed around with the exhaust manifold without any luck. All the bolts went in no problems, but the exhaust manifold doesn't seem to want to line up with a...
Alright, here's another question... called name that hose.
I have 4 barbs on the backside of the engine, on my old engine 2 are capped. There is a straight one and bent one left. After looking on the parts diagram and in the manual, it seems the oil breather goes on the straight one, and the...
well after a call to the southside, it seems they are self tapping screws. More questions to follow i'm sure.
Well here's one. Whats the best way to break this engine in? I've heard to just pin it from the get go, and ride it like your going to ride it. Then the operators manual says to take it...
Hey guys, well after some time, i've decided to finally throw down the money and install a new short block in the 2003 summit 800HO that Teth-air sold me. After figuring out how to pull the magneto, and inspecting the stator, i found a broken wire on it, and decided to replace that too. After...
