Hey all,
Its that time of year again. Believe it or not, our winter starts in August and it starts with a bang!
Since it’s incorporation in 2004, the Valemount & Area Recreation Development Association (VARDA) has been diligently working alongside many partners to improve the prosperity and...
As another winter snowmobile season is coming to a close, we have so much to be grateful for. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association, please accept our most sincere Thank You for choosing to #ridevalemount.
The communities of Valemount...
There will be a donation jar set up at Three Ranges Brewing. If you enjoy the show, please stop in and throw a few bucks in the jar. All funds raised will go to our local meals on wheels program to help feed those who need a hand.
Is anyone coming to watch X Games gold medalists Brett Turcotte and Brandon Cormier as they take to the air in downtown Valemount on Saturday April 9th starting at 7pm? Should be a rad time. Three Ranges Brewing will have the patio open and all of downtown will be blocked off to watch the...
We regret to say that grooming operations are over for the Clemina Creek area.
This is the earliest we have ever had to shut down, although the current situation is beyond our control.
Access is still possible from the main staging but there are long stretches of bare mud/gravel to deal with...
The Dixon is not open for a few weeks yet as it is under a ski tenure, but this is down the elevator to the left of the Dixon which is open all season. Use caution as the elevator can be a nasty slope to mess with in bad conditions.
Come watch X Games gold medalists Brett Turcotte and Brandon Cormier as they take to the air in downtown Valemount on Saturday April 9th starting at 7pm.
This event is proudly sponsored by Tourism Valemount and the Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association
CAUTION ON THE CLEMINA TRAIL
The 4km hill is extremely icy and recommended for advanced riders only.
We are sorry for this, but this is an environmental issue that is out of our control. We simply need snow to cover the ice that was created due to warm temps and rain.
Ride Safe
There is another amazing fundraiser going on this Saturday afternoon in the Allan Creek staging area.
Best Western Plus Valemount Inn & Suites and Martin Motor Sports staff will be on site to serve you some amazing food as you come off of the mountain. They will be set up by the Ticket Booth...
No sugar coating things here. We could use a reload.
The best stashes of snow are found in safe, sheltered, windloaded terrain. Find those sheltered pockets of trees or hidden leeward aspects for your best chance and some quality, fresh lines.
Or, just chill out with friends and family and...
Hey guys. We do apologize for the first few km of the Clemina trail, but we are doing our best. Our big machine does not safely fit on this section of trail. Ledcor is trying to get out there today with their little dozer but they are not allowed on the roads due to the current storm, so we are...
With the precipitation over the last couple of days, the alpine areas look to be getting a bit of a reload although the extent of that is uncertain
The lower elevations are still soggy and wet with freezing levels to 1400m, although the trend looks for cooling starting on Tuesday.
Up in the...
Sorry no updates from here. Tried to get out today and was blocked by several accidents and gridlock traffic so turned around and worked on our little broken cat at crystal ridge. It has been raining for a few days to what I am guessing is about 13-1400m. Not sure about the alpine snow...
We hope everyone is enjoying an awesome weekend on the snow.
NOTICE for Sunday Jan 9th. There will be a machine working the beginning 2km of the Clemina trail first thing in the morning. They will likely be on the trail for a couple of hours so please use caution
We are so very thankful to...
All three of our main riding zones got a fresh shave last night and we have had reports of 20-30cms of snow in the alpine areas as of yesterday afternoon, and another 10cms in the valley bottom this morning as reported from trailhead staff.
Sounds like a bit of a reload to start the week off...
Happy Holidays everyone. Hope you are all staying warm while having a little fun.
Just an important note on Clemina. We have been trying a new solution for access due to the industrial activity in the area, but due to safety issues associated with the narrow path we are forced to use, the...
