Pretty tough to beat the 05 - 07 M7's as a starter sled. They are bombproof, light to ride, and you can get one with a 162 for not that much money. They will go anywhere an 800 will and the way the power goes to the track feels very manageable.
There lots of them around for 4- 5 grand too...
I have a 7 foot deck and my wife has a 162 M7. No problems whatsoever except you have to be on it when you load. It might be sticking out to far and not meet some DOT regulation but I am not really a "rules" type of person. If I was to do it again I would still go with the 7 footer.

Right because guys climbing and skiing mountains in white outs for weeks at a time can't possibly demand the same technical clothes that the average weekend warrior sledder does.
Not that I am interested but I am curious what kind of wages a job like this would pay. I am interested in what my local mechanic makes. Do these jobs pay in the 50 - 60k a year category?
Go to Quartz on any given day and you will be horrified with the antics of the people there. There will always be dumb people with lots of money sledding and there is nothing you can do to teach them. People like this who have not grown up in the mountains will always underestimate them.

Man sledders and sled clothes designers have terrible taste. That sh!t is ugly!
Maybe if it had more flames on it........it seems motor sports clothes need more flames.
The 07 if it has a new motor with a crank update. The other REV's are a great chassis and they were way ahead of their time. I have an 05 that I have ridden for 7 years now. One new top end but it has been a pull the rope and go sled since I got it. I ride with lots of people with new sleds...
The new Garmin E-Trex's seem pretty good. I just bought about 50 of them for my field crews. So far they like them and not many have come back broken. They are only 125 bucks and they will do what you want. Well except find your riding partner that is.
In terms of tracking another GPS, I think...
OK so the switch on my 06 Power Wagon that moves the drivers seat back is toast. Every other switch works but I can't move the seat back right now. My five year old just moved the seat to the very front so I can barely get in the truck right now and driving is me with my knees pressed up against...
Yep White Boar. With a 4x4 it is a pretty easy drive in with a canoe and then a 5 minute walk with it to the lake. Meachen was out after the big slide but it is all fixed up. The last 3km's into the lake are bit rough but doable.
I was in snow last weekend. All it took was a 20 minute canoe ride.
I was trying to find my hand gaurds that are no longer attached to my sled due to a whoopsie on that very hill we are walking up.
Leaving my wallet, helmet, gloves, on the trailer / deck and driving away only to find that when I get home they are gone.
Forgetting to turn off my transceiver at the end of the day and then the next time I go to use it the batteries are dead.
Drinking / partying to much the night before and...
Every year, early season, itchin to ride, and I know I shouldn't lay a big carve in but I do.......and...........I get to buy a new A Arm because of that stump 6 inches under the snow.
