    BC Avalanche

They said it was a surveyor taken over a cliff. Heads are going to roll if there was avy danger in a work area and there was not sufficient expertise on staff. That is what mountain / ski guides are for, keeping workers safe when there is an avalanche hazard.

    BC Avalanche

There is a large Diamond Drilling program going on up there on the Bruce Jack Property. My guess is it was one of the drillers or helpers. I have a few buds who have been working up there and they tell me there was a lot of snow recently.

Is your wife / girlfriend hot or cold?

Show me a guy or girl who wears Klim and I will show you someone who paid to much for an inferior product. And bought based on trendiness.

Is your wife / girlfriend hot or cold?

Down! Get a good down jacket for her. Even if it goes under another waterproof jacket so be it. Down is where it is at! The usual branded snowmobile clothes are junk in my opinion. Mountain Hardware makes some sweet down jackets that are thick and semi- waterproof. My wofe and mother in law both...

Saw this thread in the Golden and Area section. Thought I would bump it up, the more emails we can get out there the better. Getting Catamount re-opened would be great. https://www.snowandmud.com/forum/f5/forster-catamount-closure-69716.html Forster/Catamount ClosureGents, The Windermere...

    What makes a sled flickable?

The person who is riding it.
  10. powderhoundbrr

What kind of sledder are you?

The type of rider who shakes his head at all the idiotic stuff other people do in the mountains. And also one who actually lives in the mountains.

    Excuse the Newbie....

Buy something used because you area going to do all sorts of dumb things if it is your first sled. Wrecking a 4000 dollar sled because you couldn't / didn't know how to turn out of a steep downhill and then smoked a tree hurts a lot less than doing it on your brand new shiny $14 000 machine...

    Can you fricken believe it?

Looks pretty well set up. I imgaine with the right pilot it would make a lot of anything look silly. Won't be keeping up with my Stock REV though. I'll be doing circles around him while he is wrenching.

Here we go again.......friggin' savior's of the earth!

Which Nature Conservancy? If you are referring to the Purcell Nature Conservancy it has a very high protected status. Almost that of a National Park so there is absolutely no way there will ever be any use of it outside foot and horse traffic. I have spent a lot of time hiking / camping in the...

Our BC tax dollars hard at work!

And they are talking about trying it again in the spring. What a colossal waste of 200K. If I waste 200K at work I get fired, I wish the government hacks had the same level of responsibly for their actions. Transplanted Purcell Mountain caribou fail to survive - British Columbia - CBC News

Best place to buy avalanche gear??

Anywhere but Mountain Equipment Coop. A portion of the money you spend there will be used by environmental groups trying to stop you from riding and shutting down access for motorized users!!!!!!! I like there stuff but do my best to no support them for that reason!!!!!!! See here ; 1% of...

    First Snowfall

Of the year here in Kimberley. You can see from the ski hill webcam that the Rockies got a dusting and even the hill got a bit. It is melting fast in the sun though. Riding in 6 weeks or so I would say. Might as well pre-order a new left hand side a-arm.

    What's your kids riding?

I have a Kitty Cat for my 4 year old and a Snow Scoot for my 6 year old. I installed a remote kill switch on the Kitty Cat a few years back and it works awesome. It has saved the little ones many times from running into things they shouldn't. I have drank a lot of beer watching these 2 sleds go...
