Have not heard yet, will try and find out from the Trail Co-ordinator for that area, driving by it today looks like there might be some activity up there. Probably some sledders finding out why it is called Stoney Mountain.... Will post once I hear more. Cheers, Dare.

Snow is falling, Anzac and Stoney trails have been groomed. LOTS of riders have beat them up fairly bad, but hope to have the groomer out again in the next week or so. At present, still need more snow, but the conditions are getting better. Part of the new Thickwood trail has been signed and...
I am saddened to hear of the loss of one of Alberta's true Sledheads. Albert has always been a gentleman, and I will remember him as such. Words escape me to convey how sorry I am for their loss to his loving family, and also to his friends both on the Angels and the many other sledders who knew...
Rode the rally this weekend, and enjoyed the new section of trail. Good work by all those who did the hours required to get it ready to use. EXCELLENT work by Barry to get as much base as he did after it was only mulched this season. New section is a great addition, and more fun that the old...
Shhhh..... LOL, the boys are hoping to get out this weekend and remove the last few trees from the Stoney trail, perhaps grooming in near future... will let you know once I know... Cheers, Dare
Re: Fort McMurray Trail (Stoney Mountain)
Just spoke with the Stoney Mountain Trail boss, he was out riding on Friday and the conditions are as follows: Trail is very rough, due to the high amount of useage. The creeks are still flowing strong, so lake crossing is not recommended, though Maqua...
Just spoke with our Trail Boss for the Anzac system. There have been some good talks between Industry and the club, and the new trail is being mulched even as I type this. It will mean a major change to some of our trail system, but may be better in the long run if it allows them to do their...
We do work with them, and they are supposed to help us out as well on this problem, well, IOL is.... the others are a bit of a surprise but I am sure they are going to do the right thing as well.... it was just a bit annoying to find our trail a road... main reason to put in the message is to...
Good day Drifters, I just spoke with our Trail boss for the Anzac loop, and he informs me that Industry has taken over a good portion of the previous snowmobile trail and it is presently a road. He rode it on Tuesday, December 9, and the same area that Imperial used last year, is again a road...
Good day Snowmobilers, I have no official word from the Stoney Mountain trail boss, but have heard the conditions are not that good. The trails are seeing an unbelievable amount of use, and the under layer is still very wet. This weeks cold weather should change that, but until we hear...

Hey all, still no word from the trail bosses, so I can not post the trails as open yet, my guess is, they are getting lots of riders if the numbers of sleds in the back of trucks is an indication.... just take it easy everyone, early season is known for rocks and stumps and logs just under the...
Just a friendly reminder from the Sno-Drifters. The trails are still considered closed and they are use at your own risk. We have not openned up either Stoney or Anzac yet, and will not do so until there is more frozen ground and more snow. I have already heard of one sled being totaled on...
New post regarding the trail conditions in the Mac.... we have some snow, but it is very poor conditions. The muskeg is NOT frozen under the snow. I have spoken with lots of members and the staging area up at Stoney had at least 50 trucks parked in it on Sunday. I spoke with one member and a...
No, we are not riding yet, that I know of, but we do have snow falling fairly regular up on Stoney. As soon as it is rideable, I will let everyone know. Some trail work required up on Stoney as soon as the muskeg is frozen hard enough to support the quads and tubs, unless we get enough snow...
