Bought an 02 Viper ER a couple months ago and it starts/runs good. Last week I picked up an 05 Viper and I can't see a choke on it?
Also noticed most parts are listed as being common for 02-04 models. Are the 05's different than the 02-04 models engine wise?
Thanks
Rolling Hills in Fernie is an awesome area to ride. Head west past the town of Fernie and left off the highway at the Morrisey staging area just before the tunnel. Ride the trail up from there and just before the right that takes you along the power line to the cabin you can go straight and...
Awesome picture of your little guy. Mine are too old for the 120 and still too young for a big sled to start on so they'll be riding with me if we ever get some snow. It's brown in Calgary right now but I'm doing the snow jig tonight as we might get a dusting for Christmas. Just picked up a...
Haven't ridden a 174 yet, but can imagine the smell of melted plastic riding up the trail heads. I've seen quite a few for sale in recent weeks and bet they heat up on the spring time ride up the trails. Enough length that you maybe need two sets of scratchers. :)
Kyle. I am glad to hear you will be alright, and I'm also glad to hear you were in good company with people nearby who helped get you off the mountain. I don't ride the hills like that anymore and had my own near death descent at Quartz back in 1995 but have learned enough to know that a Sat...
Being that I really like riding the Red SX Viper over that of the Polaris or the Cat, I sold them off as a pair last week and kept the trailer from the deal (bonus). I set out to find another Yamaha and this week I scored a 2005 SX Viper that I found up in Redwater. Here it is unloaded at home...
Yes indeed and getting stoked to be getting back at it. Just bought another Viper this week and will head to CC over the holidays to get out on the sleds with the family.
Is the 940 accessible from the north end off Highway 40 and if it is, can you drive to the old Etherington parking lot to stage. Also, is that big field still there in the picnic area. I want to take the kids out to learn to ride in that open area if it still exists after the flood? Thanks in...
My 10 year old learned to ride dirt at the age of 6 and this will be his first year learning to handle a sled on his own. Even with him already demonstrating to me that he can handle a throttle, he'll be introduced to it gradually...and he'll learn more about the trees than WOT. I got him a 600...
Re: Calgary Swap Meet
I was out for an hour to two Saturday. Went to grab some deals on kids snow suits and found some excellent buys at the FXR booth (lot's of snow bunnies around the place too). Good to meet the new folks from Pro-Am and saw some good deals on the swap meet outside. Bonus was...
I'll get in touch and maybe we can catch a few rides this year. I did check with Foothills MD and they follow Alberta Highway act saying no sledding or off road vehicles on highways which is fence post to fence post including the ditches. I then asked a local RCMP and he said they don't really...
Thanks...been there many times.
Looking to do more ditch and river riding this year and will head to Cataract once in a while, or as I feel like loading up for the day. :)
Good point Modman, and something I was planning to add. I unloaded all the sleds into my shop on Sunday and went through them last night. I saw the plug in on the cat while I was checking it out and do plan to add tethers to all of them. The wife will be riding the Yamaha, my boys will learn...
Looking to insure a few sleds for liability only and I'm wondering who the best underwriters are? Are any of them kid friendly where they don't black ball you for allowing your kids to ride?
Thanks
Cool thing is the guy who sold the sleds to me is an RCMP member from Revy. He was directly involved with the Bait program put into place due to the sled and trailer thefts in the BC hills the last few years. In talking with him last night it sounds like they are planning a lot more of it this...
