Posted on "rebuild parts" and on Dootalk. This is more of my trouble shooting thread though..
Alright!
Back at it again. Got a chance to get out to the garage and tool around for a bit. This is what I did:
1) Checked the DPM switch with 9V battery. Works flawless.
2) Decided WTH, lets...
Clutch side Piston:
Questions:
1) What could have caused this. Seems awfully odd the major points of damage are across the cylinder from each other, yet the ports look ok. What did the engine swallow?
2) Is this the rattle I heard, or an existing problem and the rattle I heard...
I did... I didn't go as far as you though, but found bad things..
Just last night I popped off the head and tested the DPM. Here's what I posted on Dootalk:

Wow!
Nice housekeeping. That engine pay is clean!
That piston also has quite a bit of blowby. Let us know how you make out. THat's a pretty big bill to fix it up!
Read the local forums below to see conditions. I think most are still waiting in fear of landmines, but I'm sure there is a road or two you could go down relatively safely.
Definitely not here to make friends. But I appreciate the advice.
If you've read the other side of my discussions with the responses I've received when being nice you'll understand my short attitude for those who don't realise the position we are all in. People are often to short sighted to...
Haha. I love this.
Snow and MUD? Really? Looks like I'm in the right place then..
Why's that? To bring awareness to people who obviously don't know what they should.
When I find a trial that's full of water holes and mud? I work with the government to either close it, or engineer and...
8" on my 06X no problems. I did have to re-route a bit though and take out some zip ties.
How high are you wanting to go?
If the adrenaline has a T type fitting on the top, I do have stock X risers around I would let go for cheap.
Nope... but it begs to offer why it's leaking?
Sounds like maybe burnt bearing seal causing it to pressure up..?? Blowby?
I might be talking out my ass, but sorry I can't help. Just like to ask questions =)
I "thought" ive heard of people pulling this seal once the clutch is removed. Are...
Most bike stores carry Motul products. They are Motul whores. They also have the 710 which replaced one of my fav's, the 600.
I run 800 in my KTM at 22$/litre, but I don't think I'd use it in my sled. I'd have to look into it if they recommend cold weather operation when not mixed, but IMO...
Dude.. WTF?
CDN Tire isn't bad. Sure they don't support OHV use the last I heard, but they also aren't against it like MEC. Validate your rediculous comments.
I run Shell Advanced too.. Waiting for the sale to kick in..
My father has a 600E-tec. Insane machine. VERY good on gas/oil and very good throughout the power range. Starts and runs like a 4-stroke.
I know M6's are a nice little unit, but I'm pretty sure I'd go with a E-tec hands down.
Oh nothing. Other than groups spending 100's of thousands of dollars to keep riding areas open and people like you tearing chit up and being counterproductive to these efforts..
Ie:
- Not staying on trail
- Riding through muddy/soft/muskeg areas
Congrats on being asshats.
I don't care to...
Heard good things from a buddy.
I believe in the coming months I'm getting a Torch to replace my Storm through work.
Guess I could let you know more by then, but I imagine you want a little sooner? lol
Beauty!!
I love the simpleness. Black on black with some classy plain decals. Really nice. 154 > bigger sleds. It'll still handle and climb amazingly well. All around great sled. Nice choice.
I'd love that sled. Maybe in a few years...
