Thanks for the info. What a year to have my sled in peices?! I'm going to rectify that this week hopefully and get out there. I haven't been out yet this year!! I miss the rolling hills with fresh snow.. =(
Fernie isn't like Golden and other areas for big mountains and big hills. That...
Figured I'd simply update all you guys. I ran it by my boss today and apparently he said for what it's worth he would rather keep it. I told him to think about it and let me know.
He believes there is under 500 km's on it as well.
I might go check it out this week sometime. Strangely enough...
Hahhaa
So true.
This thread is great.
There's a european energy drink called Pu$$y. Wondering what that does to my sled? Better or worse then Redbull/Monster?
Will it affect the colour of my white sunglasses?
Awesome stuff.
I've never been to Revy. The only time I've made the trek out there we found it too busy in town and pushed onto Sickamouse and had one of my most memorable days of sledding. We had Eagle pass to ourselves almost on a bluebird day. Maybe one other group out there, but we didn't...
This is the BRP stuff.
You can buy it from them and they ship to Canada via USPS (no duties). Here's what they quoted me yesterday:
"$31.95 incl shipping to Canada via US Mail, we have them in stock. We accept credit cards and paypal: advanced_machine@sbcglobal.net."
I will be ordering...
I've rode my buddies Nytro with a turbo and I must admit, stock I'd never buy that sled, but with the turbo it is fun. Heavy, but fun.
With the kit he has you have to think a bit ahead of what you're doing to allow the power to come in before actually needing it. There was a decent amount of...
I didn't know these things were sought after. I thought most people wrote off the 1000's for being heavy and having some injection issues, although I think they were fixed through a reflash?
My knowledge on the 1000's is very limited.
He's away for superbowl till next tuesday... then gone again Friday.
I'll try to mention it to him. I know he hasn't said he wants to sell it, but I know if somebody is willing to buy it he'll let it go since it's been sitting unused. With that comes a bit of maintenance because of it sitting...
You just stuck it on with RTV sealant???
Scuff up the edges?
Did it hold well? That beats building frames and/or riviting. I like that idea if it works, even to just do the lower ones where the powder gets in. I find the engine melts the other stuff, but I don't like seeing snow on the CPU.
Ok guys.
Hope the help is still being offered. I've withheld this info for awhile to see what others come up with and just use it as information.
When I slipped the head off I found the clutch side piston to be missing maybe 2 square inches of piston skirt. Just gone. My original thoughts...
I took mine off (still have it), but you are correct. I do get snow on the belts when leaning it into the powder. Slips, then hooks up and takes off. It's annoying for sure.
I was wanting to make a plate and put screen on that lower vent opening.
I haven't read the full post, but my boss has a mint 06-1000 he'd sell. It has like 600km's if that. Might only be 200km? The last time I saw the sled it was in perfect condition. 100% stock.
He rode it a couple times one year and has never taken it back out. Said he's too stupid with it...
Props given to where credit is due.
Wicked pictures. I've gave sledding pictures a try, but it's too difficult to control the people, weather, and everything else. It also blows carrying the weight around. Good work on getting out there and capturing the moments! That looks like a day to...
Exactly. I have 2-stroke dirt bikes and don't find premixing an issue at all. I get gas everytime I ride too.
As stated, the oil ratio does not decrease when idling. It just takes less fuel, but the ratio *should* stay similar or the same. Properly jetted it shouldn't be an issue. My REV...
Do the calculation and you'll probably be surprised what ratio it was running before. Not saying it's right, it's just most run really rich. I think I'm around 20:1. I run all my dirt bikes at 50:1, but I would probably do 40:1 on my sled giving it's ridden harder. Jet accordingly.
The nice...
I've never done it personally, but I've heard of people using starter fluid, or brake clean.
I wouldn't use WD-40.
Go to dootalk and search for pressure test or leak test. You should be able to find the items. You can buy them all at CDN tire. Skip the guage and just use a decent tire guage...
There seems to be a lot of stuck Ian pictures.... Not going well this year Ian?
Kidding. Looks deep! A lot of shovels out...
Lol.
I wish my sled was together. In the coming weeks I hope to change some of that, or at least work on it again.
