Golden shows less snow at the ski hill then both Fernie and Castle. That being said conditions can change wildly between areas.
The bonus of Fernie right now is SW Alberta has a snow warning for today into Sunday. The downfall? Avalanche risks are higher. We're in a situation of less...
Very little to no rock crawling here.
There are a few trails I'd recommend but it's kinda hard to show on a map. In the end, if you are looking for rock you won't find it here in Calgary. You'll find offroad trails with rock, but definitely not rock crawling.
If you are looking to ride tight, technical bush I would run away from a 125. Trust me, I've done it.
250's are way easier to ride once you know the power characteristic. Also, the newer ones are a lot more linear then the old 90's ones. Powervalves and tuning have really changed what...
Thinking we're going, but we're going with ambitions to snowboard more-so then sled. I'm surprised nobody has responded to this. Kinda has me guessing what snow conditions will be like...
They are in the garmin map format.
I'm sure there are options by now for other makes, but if not, just download google earth. Open maps in that, and convert if required.
My new Oregon GPS takes .img files for maps now too.
You may be surprised.
There are many stories in the states where landowners were forced to give up their activities because of noise pollution.
Canada isn't that much different then the states, but things like this may come into play.
Actually, in one case it was a previous pro MX rider who...
But what if I want a 3" paddle to ride packed snow on flat land with a 174" track? It looks SICK!!!!! Lets also raise the rear super high with a drop kit so people can see my sick ride.
When I was in Saskatoon visiting my 'rents, I think I only seen mountain sleds. I was wondering two...
THANK YOU!!
I know I get worked up about these things, but every response that talks about me-me-me and not considering others, I seriously lose faith in humanity! Are we that f*cking stupid?
Yes, I love the sound of an engine, but I can look past that to consider how it reflects on the...
Or are there less people sledding this year?
I haven't even been out, but reviewing the forums from time to time it just seems like a lot less hype. Almost.. quiet??
My sled is back together and have plans to ride this Sunday.
So is it true?
Is it the economy?
Is it the more commonly...
I know it's not the same as what you are asking, but there may be two of us heading to corbin with sleds and boards in tow for Sunday. Leaving Calgary Sunday morning.
With the conditions we may have to play it safe and just ride around in meadows though. There is one slope I've been wanting...
Ugh.
I'm glad more then a few responded with the right answer. At one time I was the only one!
Do not pay to make your kwad louder! It doesn't matter where you ride, it does not help the situation. Think your neighbors don't hear you loading it up? Think they don't vote? Think their voice...
When I pulled my boss's 16' enclosed, tandem axle trail with one sled in it I was getting 10MPG. That being said I think something was wrong with the trailer as it didn't pull well and the trailer was in horrible condition.
From what I've seen, expect the same or similar mileage from a full...
Or hard packed snow. That ch!t won't be slowing down and he's on a 1-ton.
I've never tried it, but at that moment I'd be putting the belts over the ski's.
Not sure what's been said, but as another Tacoma owner, I know two things:
1) They aren't a towing truck. Suspension, brakes, and motor.
2) Towing ratings should only be used about 3/4 of what they say, and even then tongue weight, as mentioned, is critical.
I pretty much will only tow a...
The alternative is to ride a sustainable trail. Something we should all be practicing.
SRD has maps of both Wiaprous and Mclean on their page. Garmin ready, but I think you can open in Google Maps and convert to other manufactures file types.
Please keep trails and what OHV use they have...
Poorly positioned filter and snow coming in through the intake?
Was it deep snow or just trail? Was the trail riding behind the "mist" of another sled?
From what I know, 4-corners is a clear indication of cold seisure too.
