    Backpack Gear

I've got most if not all plus a few more things in a 35L ABS Vario backpack. Less the fuel which is on the sled. I do have fire starters though. I'm going to review it again now that Im back in Canada and stoked to go sledding! Just need snow! IMO, 93% of people in the back country are ill...

    Coffee Pot

This is where I don't think all "weekend warriors" should be painted with the same brush. Yea, there are a lot of "tools" (quoted from above) that abuse trails, but not all Albertans are poachers and trail abusers. As somebody else mentioned, it's all for everybody but I think teaching others...

    Coffee Pot

Hahaha.. I've been gone for 1.5 years (motorcycle expeditions) and I come back to this thread. I've read up to this post because I'm thinking the whole time "Wow, has the tune ever changed around here?!?" Then I seen your post. Knowing guys who have rode with you before and said good...

    Towing with Toyota Tacoma??

Don't regulations for inspections call for anything over 2000lbs in B.C to have trailer brakes? Either way, IMO, they wouldn't hurt. Your truck is already wired for them. If the tent trailer you look at has the brakes it's an easy decision. I think the controllers are about 70-150. I've...

    snow in crowsnest?

Silly question... but has anybody got any updated info? I was contemplating dual sporting down there in coming weeks and curious how those mountains look for snow. Of course I'm looking for no snow, but the mountains look pretty white around here! Thanks, Q

    Mclean Creek trails

PM me your e-mail and I'll send it over. It's very preliminary, but shows you the areas of good single track. Certain areas are better for wet conditions, etc. The map isn't the best, but this is the government provided one. Paper copies are available at all staging area kiosks. As with any...

    Mclean Creek trails

All camping at Mclean is ride away. You have to be a certain distance from water and the road I believe. Or maybe its a distance within the road? I donno. Any spot a normal vehicle can get to expect it to be pretty busy. I'll look at the map now.

    Mclean Creek trails

If you join RMDRA ($40) they give you their personal map with trail names. Many of the trails are maintained by the RMDRA. Keep in mind they like logs on trails to prevent hills from errosion, etc. Let me know which map you have and I can point out the areas. Most trails make nice loops

    Mclean Creek trails

Trails are really wet right now still. Random camping is allowed provided you follow the rules. There are good dirt bike trails whenever you stage, but you just need to find them. Let me know and I can pinpoint them on google maps for you so you can enter the co-ordinates on a GPS. Rather...

    Post up your riding pics!!!

That one picture with the mud looks like Mclean. I've technically only been out once this year on the KTM. No pictures. My XRR has seen 4000 km's of Baja, and I've done some mild dual sporting and city riding. It's a hoot in the city and people stare because of it's uglyness yet superior...

Anywhere in Southern Alberta gonna be open april 23rd for biking?

I believe only Indian Graves and Wiaprous are open. Yes, they will either be very wet, or very deep snow yet. Mclean is closed till May1st.

    Special Avalanche Alert Mar 31.11

That'll be an issue that'll be reviewed I'm sure. That rain crust may be 2-2.5 meters deep now!! :( Hopefully the warmer weeks we have had lately has broken the pack down and solidified it a bit. They seem less worried, but it's one of those instances if it does get riggered it'll be a BIG one.

    floating secondary

I've heard of this a lot but never really researched the modification. Could somebody explain? My clutching used to be top notch, but now for some reason it seams my pulley's aren't aligned real well. The secondary seems a bit too far in causing the primary side to stay in constant...

    Special Avalanche Alert Mar 31.11

That's awesome! Explains it much better then what I can find on the net and makes the avy reports have a little more meaning! Much appreciated.

    Special Avalanche Alert Mar 31.11

Ok, Because I find this information very hard to clarify, which exact range is the Lizard range? Is it the range west of Fernie, or east, or both? These two ranges appear to have significantly different conditions most times and I generally play by whatever range has worse ratings, but would...

    High quality GM's

Not sure about other trucks, but found out yesterday the Taco bumpers that are "chrome" are actually plastic. IMO, a better option on the front of a truck. The real metal ones are paper thin anyways.

    Cha cha chatter!

Brrr.. Winter camping in a tent... Kinda sounds fun though? Might be something on my list of to-do's this year yet. Tenure dates I'm pretty sure.

    Revy Spring Pow

I was hoping to see snowboarding, especially with what I think was a NoBoard (Just jumped on-board myself). I'll have to watch the full video this aft when I have time, but pretty sweet!
