All brands all years all sizes lets see your bikes!

Did it on a highly modified XR650R. Same bike already had 1000's of KM riding very technical dual sporting and dirt biking here, and 4000KM of Baja riding from February. Till this day it hasn't skipped a beat. You can read about those two rides on the following two links: Baja: Dirt...

All brands all years all sizes lets see your bikes!

I did it all solo and met people along the way. The last leg from Phoenix to Calgary on the Continental Divide Trail was my buddy on his XRR. We went of the trail to do a few passes in Colorado, take in MesaVerde and a couple days in Moab. As for my solo trip I started by riding a week in...

    I love Alberta-Updated

Sounds like a non-street legal dirt bike attempting to be dual sported.

    Mclean Creek trails

Some do, but I don't think the map is released yet. Clubs have been working with SRD to install signage and should be out shortly if it isn't already. I know it's been under the works for the last couple years with RMDRA.

    Canadian tire snowmobile oil

Brace yourself! Anybody look at the price of oil these days? I think 4 liters is nearing 60$ I remember when I started into this game, which wasn't that long ago (4-5 years ago), the CDN Tire oil was $30 and went on sale for $22 Pretty soon the oil I burn in a weekend will cost more then the gas!

    Mclean Creek & Waiparous

Looks like you are having fun. Remember to always ride with somebody. If you haven't, check out RMDRA. Bunch of local guys and girls who maintain those very trails you are on. They host group rides Wednesday nights during the summer. Great way to meet riding buddies and shoot the *crap*...

    oil mixture

My 06 X 800 oil injection keeps it pretty rich. 28-35:1 it seems. I used to measure the oil going in VS gas all the time. That being said, ANY oil injection rate can be used (within reason) provided it's jetted accordingly. 50:1 wouldn't be an issue but for me, I'd probably stick with...

    Advice on clutch setting

Most recommend more then that... 5-10mm probably. The cable slack can change with which way the handlebars are turned. A clutch cable is as simple as it gets. You can't really screw it up. Make sure there is play in the lever is #1. This shows the clutch isn't slightly disengaged while...

    Baja 2012

Awesome stuff! Baja is hard to describe to most people. It's a desert yes, but it varies greatly and there's something about that desert that's truly amazing. I've now been there twice in the last year and 7000km's worth of riding. I hope to be going back this fall to preride and help some...

MELT SNOW MELT!!! anyone else getting ANXIOUS!?!??!

I'm hoping the snow stays around. I've been gone all winter and want to do some sledding/snowboarding before it's gone. I got one sled trip in and blew my MCL on the first day. Still on the mend! To make things worse my bike is in Phoenix awaiting to ride the Continental Divide Trail back...

    YZ450F or YZ250?

I disagree with a lot of stuff mentioned on this site and wonder how many of you have actually rode the bikes you speak of? I agree with those that say 2-strokes are cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain in the long run, and better resale value. A newer 250 have TONS of torque and more then...

    airbag backpacks

Common misconception. Any competent dealer who sells the bags would also stock the triggers and canisters. You forget the added BONUS of this feature. They are filled and controlled by ABS. It isn't some random who's had a 1 hours course on filling bottles. IMO, A HUGE bonus. Swing by...
