Crowsnest, Atlas riding area. My kids have been riding there since they were 6. As for cabins, crowsnest mountain resort.

I've camped in our trailer down to minus 17. It's got tank heaters and spray foam insulation on the underside. Drying gear was a pita. I only do it in the spring now.

I used a Giro DH helmet for a couple of rides...found it too cold. You have to tape up all the vent to keep snow out. Might be good for warm spring days.
Since then I smashed it DH riding so I'm going to the Fly F2 carbon. It has a dual density liner and DOT as well as Snell rating.
I'm looking for the winter edition as it comes with vent plugs and breath deflector. Also like the high vis. orange colour. Looking to use it for sledding and a summer DH biking (smashed my DH helmet this summer). Like the SNELL rating and the dual density EPS liner, which is are. Basically...
Anyone know where the FLY F2 Carbon is available in Calgary? Or Fly helmets in general, Rocky Mtn Honda used to sell them, need a new source.

With all the rain Fernie has had is there any trail riding left to do down there? I'd like to take a family out trail riding and was thinking Ram? Maybe Hartely? Any grooming going on or too warm? Any other suggestions? I would normally go to Atlas or York in the Crow but sounds like it's...
Rode coal Creek today. Steady rain to the new cabin. Fresh snow half way up the burn across from the cabin but heavy wet snow on rain crust. We're not riding tomorrow. Looks like May riding. Saw a few smaller slides.
I'd also recommend the 120. They have adjustable governors on them so you can crank it right down until they get a feel for it. Also, parts for the 120s are easier to get hold of.
I only run a tarp if road conditions would result in crap on my sled. Sleds on a deck are usually high enough that they are not getting road spray. My truck will often be covered but I've only got a dusting of brown on my skis. It's one of the benefits of a deck. Tarps suck!
It hasn't changed a whole lot since then, I'm always making small improvements when I have time. It's been a reliable machine, I think I'll ride it for another year then upgrade.
Good to see you're back into riding!
Etherington parking lot is fine for trailers, there were 1/2 dozen out there on Sunday. Road in is ploughed, parking lot is not, although it's getting fairly packed down.
I road from Etherington down to the cataract trail via Raspberry pass. The high road option was better, shaded and higher...
