Use to us this brown grainy stuff from Green Cross; worked great!!! Ran out a couple of years ago now you can't find it. Have used Dr. Doom with much success.
This is the worst for snow conditions In Southern Alberta (Red Deer, Rocky Area south to the border) I have seen in many years. And I am not wasting fuel to drive 3 or 4 hours (Golden, Crowsnest Pass Fernie area) to ride on less than stellar conditions. Now in saying all this conditions can...
There's a few sharp turns on 584 after Sundre but you have to go through Bearberry before the turnoff. Now don't blink as you go through Bearberry or you will miss it, yes there is a sometimes on again off again Salon/Restaurant and a community centre.
Turn off Hi-way 584 to TR 334 where 584 takes a sharp turn to the north. As the picture indicates in the Catman16 post. Follow TR 334 to the t intersection at RD 75. The staging area is located there.
You can buy ASA trail pass at Central Cycle in Olds or Mountains Edge in Sundre. If you do purchase the trail pass make sure you put "Olds" in the "Vendor Snowmobile Club" line on the trail pass. There is a staging area about 3 miles straight west of the Bearberry Salon don't follow the highway...
Cant agree with you more, those tires came standard on my 2012 f-350 and they are not a proper winter tire!!! Put on set of studded Nokians and the difference is night and day compared to the Micheilns M&S for winter driving.
I see from your post you are from Cossfield. There is great riding west of Sundre in the Bearberry and Burntstick Lake area. The Olds and Caroline clubs maintain trails in the area. Most years the snow pack is reasonable but last year it was fantastic. The area is close enough for you to go for...
Mine would ride in the front seat with me until arthritis made it difficult for him to get into the truck. When he did ride in the front there was usually a big fight on who was going to drive!!!!!
If you don't mind me asking what winter tires are you running on your F350 and what was the cost? The reason I am asking is that I have had a hell of a time this winter with my F350 getting stuck and spinning out. I am still running the same tires when I bought the truck; Michellon All Terrains...
I am hearing you, I much rather ride closer to home than driving 4 hours to the mountains on bad hi-ways, uncomfortable motel beds and then find out your favorite riding area is pounded out or it is snowing so hard you can't see 2 feet in front of you. I am getting to the point I would rather...
There are some areas to play in, just have to poke around and find them, some are more obvious than others. Just be careful about hidden hazards. You can spend a whole season riding out there and still would not see what all there is to see.
