Those old 5000-6000 Tigre’s leafer’s were great deep snow machines but my money would be on the Catalyst.Some guys ran those old 6000’s leafers with 700 Cat Twin and 156 track with 2” plastic paddles,they were nearly unstoppable🤓

Carl Kuster in the blue jacket,rode many mountains with that guy years ago.Stand up guy with incredible stamina and terrain route finding abilities!

Have not seen the new cabin at Allen yet,anyone know what year the original one was built 1991 or 1992 possibly? Rode there a few years with no cabin.

I rode 4 trips with young guys last winter and it was a blast tree riding with those guys,lot‘s of entertainment 🤓

Do us guys around pension age have to stay home lol! 🤓

Those Phazers were a contender back in the 80’s & early 90’s,they were capable of moving in the deep stuff!

What I said in post #75 was how close 600‘s were to 800’s in 2006,was not comparing 2006 600’s to a G5 turbo.

I don’t recall any G5 turbo’s in 2006,was just saying how downplayed the slightly less powered sleds are.

I rode with 3 young guys around 2006 that decided to buy 600’s a doo,cat&polaris just for kicks,all very good experienced riders.The difference between those 600,s & 800,s was marginal,those boys could ride.

That Sled was on top of many mountains that were claimed undoable,the rule of the group was the first day riding was to attempt those when everyone was fresh and full of energy.As Jim Kuster always said your track has no grip when your constantly wheeling on the back idlers,ski lift is needed...

Possibly we ate at the great escape a lot,depending what hill you were riding.That would put me in the Hayday of our exploring era.Unless you were attempting to Chew Up a abscure drainage in the valley or exploring down ether side of the lake chances are you wouldn’t see me in the common areas.I...

The last policy I got stated if snowmobiling in Avalanche Terrain in or out of boundaries the premium was higher,which I took.

Good point AC new 600 could be a very fun sled, I went through the 80’s era when tracks were 1/2” lug and plastic paddles changed the game.The 2” tracks were really awesome when they came out.Riding a slightly lower HP sled is not always a bad thing,I know first hand as I rode Mod Fancooled...

Not stuck,have parked on steep slops with 3” timber dead Center of sled pull out Silky Saw for 2 minutes and carry on🤓

Ralph rode a Nordic 50 for quite a few years very capable in the Deep Stuff,that’s what I designed the Twin Track after.

My Aluminum Deck over 25 yrs old on 8’ box complete with beaver tail and 8’ ramp.Seen a new Shortbox GMC jacked up the other day deck appeared to be about 5’ long,there was room for the ski’s lol!

It’s bizarre that these heaters are nearly free when comparing other costs involved in sledding.
