It seems that in 2023 the sleds should be clutched/geared spot on,there not trail sleds that were converted for mountain sleds like the old days. Are they achieving noticeable gains with the changes?
Don‘t see many young guys with beavertail decks and most of his sled was on the deck. That’s one thing you don’t see on any new decks these days, grab the one piece ramp and position it seconds effortlessly with no pinched fingers.
I chatted with a close friend from the interior today that knows you,I’m sure I’ve never meet you.He had nothing bad to say about you lol! I would have thought you would have been a little older, your half my age.On the commendable part 95% of the exploring and laying some first tracks was on a...
I get it for sure wheeling on the back idlers most of the day,I’m in a small minority but my riding peaked 20 years ago as most of you guys are young compared to me.Most of the rush for me over the years was being told you can’t go there on that thing🤓It’s a fantastic sport and I’ve had the...
I know how fast the Turbo’s are have ridden them and ride exclusively with them sometimes.I‘m never in that big of hurry, but that’s coming from a guy who had his first liquid sled in 2008 lol!The previous 22 yrs were on custom fancooled sleds so nothing happened real quick, but usually always got...
I laugh at the mentality these days that all N/A machines should stay at lower elevations and the turbos are mind blowing with a little extra HP.I guess all the riding and areas I’ve experienced over the years were all lame.
I was hoping to try a 9R as was curious how it compared to the doo n/a,some say similar some claim it feels like a turbo in comparison.I’m going to have to ride in more populated area’s to see one,no probably not🤓
I really liked the 34”,ran 32” a few years ago.The narrow handlebars are the ticket, ran those for nearly 30yrs and got lazy in 2015 just got back using them again🤓The one huge advantage to narrower ski stance is the narrower dozer blade, you plow less snow. This was very noticeable when a friend...
Replaced my 2019 Summit X 175 with 23 Edge 175,after 1250 km pretty happy with the new one.Tractors around similar to the Gen4 but easier to handle,Edge front end was changed to 34”,expert rear scissor and narrowed handle bars 3”.Rode with turbo’s all winter Doo’s and Boost’s rode all the same...
Yes no enforcement till they get hungry and increase there quota for more tickets,I’m always amazed at some rigs that only have half the sled on the deck.
Heard some guys talking in the mountains that there may be regulations coming in with decks only allowed on 8’ box’s only and 2500 series minimum class of truck. That would eliminate a few trucks.
My first mountain trip was to Valemount in 1986 with no avalanche gear at all.Late that same year my wife and I attended a 3 day Avalanche Symposium in Edmonton, over 400 attended 4 snowmobilers,12 climbers and the rest skiers. It was very well done with numerous workshops rotating over the 3 days...
You should have boxed them in,and had a late breakfast🤓
Parking in remote areas ( mostly decks) I would say most are smart and courteous with there parking.
I was chatting with some young guys that were friendly all riding 23 Boosts.I quizzed them on the 9R and they politely replied that it could tour around meadows but if you want to climb hills a turbo is mandatory.I never said anything but thought really is this where the game going.
All the...
I’ve noticed a huge decline with Sledders travelling on 4 lane that don’t give the time of day when there passing or being passed by fellow Sledders.20-30 years ago nearly everyone would give a casual wave or thumbs up,I guess everyone so focused on themselves they don’t have time.I’m not...
The first 94 Summit I seen on the mountain in early Dec had 400 Indy Skid installed by the owner of the Skidoo dealership.I quizzed him on it and his reply was he had made 2 trips previously with the stock skid,he said I’m not in to ch!t not working. The 96 summit was a real winner for Skidoo,I...
I would say it was more rewarding,I was in that 500 class but was a full mod 488 Fan in a Indy Lite. Will never see that much terrain ever again,a few younger guys cannot believe the mountains that thing was on.
Gary owns Yellowhead and used to be a avid sledder in the old days, great guy.We hired him to scope out new terrain in the exploring days, drainages that look doable are total different when you try climbing up them.
