Instead of calling these people idiots: why not take the time to help objectively educate them further in their decision making process. Telling people they are idiots isn't going to help them make better decisions...
I personally think that the AST courses are great introductory awareness...
I have two buddies that had them combined with Raptor shocks. After one season, both have switched over to the Alternative Impact 36" arms that allow for use of the stock swaybar. They both prefer the AA set up.
Thanks so much for the update!! It is so awesome to have the South Rockies Team doing such a great job in the region...keep up the good work and thanks for keeping us informed!!
Very well said, Neil!!
Today marks the 4th anniversary of my avalanche survival. I was under for nearly 10 minutes in an area in Devil's Garden (north of Revy), the same day and only minutes apart from when Turbo dropped in Boulder. We weren't climbing or anything, but the trigger point...
A big thanks to the Holy Smoke crew!! A GREAT time was had by all 22 of us during our 4 day Blue River adventure. We couldn't have asked for better hospitality or snow conditions...100% as usual!! See you next year...same time....same place :)
I run a 2014 w/156 x 3" X3 and it is BAR NONE the funnest sled I have ever owned or rode. I have an RK Tek Rev 1 Drop-in Kit, but it had plenty even when it was stock. Clutching is key in getting the HP to the snow!!
The set up is awesome!! I am running a 3"x156 w/7 tooth drivers and found that the 60-40-40 works best for me in the deep stuff. I'm going to play around with some different primary weights and figure out the best combo for me...I will post my findings!!
I'm running a 3" x156 X3 with 7 tooth Avids on my 2014...IMO the 3" is probably the best non-power mod that one can do. I now have an RK Tek Rev 1 drop in kit in it, but it was awesome even when stock!! This is hands down the funnest sled combination I have ever had!!
We have a 22' and it is the best steel trailer IMO. It is a little tongue heavy when empty due to the large tool cabinet I have up front, but I load 2 sleds in backwards, so it is extremely well balanced with the load.
tinkerjohnson on SW has numbers for the REV2 as well as the REV 1...this is who we got our base numbers from. They are running a little higher elevation than what we are. My sled feels a little rich at engagement and bottom end, but quite clean on the top. I am going try trimming some fuel in...
It would be interesting to see what the difference in # of BRP units sold in Canada vs, the USA are. I bet you the difference is large. Also, shipping to (and across) the USA will be cheaper than shipping across Canada. And the fact that world markets are based on the US dollar always being...
Interesting stuff for sure, but one must keep in mind that media is just another form of politics and they put whatever spin on it that they so desire.
Here's another interesting piece of info we learned on recent trip to California; A top shelf automotive mechanic in California makes approximately $20/hr...the same up here is close to $40/hr. If everyone shopped state side - the Canadian's wage would drop to $15!
Be happy you live in Canada...
