I have older factory studded Nokian Hakk's, they worked great the first 2 to 3 years on ice. Almost as good as driving on dry pavement. Then the studs started to wear down even though they still have alot of tread left. Now they are still better then my BFG AT on ice not so good in deep snow.

So with just two going we split the gas. Gas tank full when I leave and full when we get back, and buy the driver a meal. If we take alternate vehicles each trip then the driver pays the shot. This only works with people that I trust. 3 or 4 guys the owner/ driver doesn't pay gas.

I always put a few moth ball in and around the bike. Put them in an open container on the seat then a few on the any where they will sit. Mice can do a lot of damage and yes steel wool to plug anything.
