Unlike big business, that does things for the right reasons all the time regardless of profit or cost. The union represents its membership, healthy employed members are probably the goal.
I see the first 2 are completely cross braced. Is it possible that in an effort to save time they decided not to cross brace as each girder was placed, and sitting unsupported for too long they folded?
My understanding is that for sleds on deck or trailer, they must be tied down at 3 points, each device/strap must be rated for the full weight of the machine being secured. Quads, ATV's tied down at each corner, each strap rated for full weight of vehicle.
North route would be both shorter and easier on a little body. Obviously the earlier a guy could get out, the better the trail conditions will be. There is a good hard base under the fresh so hopefully the whoops shouldn't get too bad. Basically 15 km between checkpoints. I guess only Dad knows...
they are running both loops both days to spread out the traffic. They will be groomed Saturday night. The North route is 65Km, a little less challenging than the South (less winding trail and not as hilly). South loop is 80kM and a bit more challenging.
Trails are excellent. Groomers have been working overtime to prepare for the Snowmobile invasion. Unlike past years where we run one loop Friday and a different on Saturday, both North and South loops are going to be run both days in anticipation of a larger number of sleds participating this...
The provincial government does not pay towards transfer payments. Our Federal income tax covers that. The reason the province is "broke" is because they are pretty much giving the resources away to the companies that pull it out of the ground. That and the fact that corporate taxes are lower...
All of the big Companies have been hoarding their cash for the past few years, to record levels... All those tax dollars that they were getting to "create jobs" went straight into overseas accounts.
Forecast is calling for up to 40cm of fresh snow between now and the WSI. Recent cold weather has halted the melt, it looks to be perfect weather for a (mostly) outdoor winter event. Hotel rooms are not an issue. Come on out and be a part of the festivities.
