There is no disadvantage to the MBRP can. The only real advantage to a can is the weight savings. You will get a little advantage with the pipe, but again the weight savings over stock is the main thing. I piped, canned, put the Specialty Sled vent kit on, and a Boss seat, and shaved 22lbs...
Once you stay at the Terracana you won't stay anywhere else. They even have a lunch packed for you for the next day. It's about 35k past the overpass on the Yellowhead, on the South side of the highway. Big sign, can't miss it.
Hey Joe, I'm the guy that put the 06 secondary on my 08 Summit and got a clutch kit from you last winter, just wanted to say that your clutch kit woke that sled up. Awesome, couldn't be happier.
Has anyone long tracked and headed to the hills with one of these? I'm thinking of buying one and putting a 163 under it. 175hp at 6000ft. and factory warranty should work
Wow, that's pretty high. where you going to get that high? if you haven't done any clutch mods on the primary before, go to your dealer and get a clutch pulling tool and a set of button holders. When you go to pull the primary off take a small propane torch and heat the shaft between the 2...
Got tired of waiting so I got Specialty sleds to re-grind and re-weld it and put the jack shaft conversion with an 06 secondary. I don't blow belts anymore and don't have to use the $150 belts.
My XP was blowing belts every 200k. Launched me over the handle bars 3 times. Friggin near broke my neck. Great handling sled but BRP dropped the ball on fit and finish. Thought about buying a new one but decide to fix thisone. Put and o6 clutch and a beefed up driveshaft. Also had the POS...
Ya, I had an 06 and was a little disappointed with a few things with the 08, like clutching, so I thought I'd either get an 09 or make the 08 the way I wanted it. Can't wait to get out and see how she dangles.
Put an 06 clutch on it and a Specialty sleds y pipe, muffler and stinger and then had the computer mapped to it. Put the sides and front vent kit on, peeled out the insulation, beefed up the driveshaft and put Fox shocks in the rear. Oh ya, put a Boss seat on it
Just joined, looking at a Valemount trip last week in Nov. to try out the new mods to my 08 Summit. Hope there is some snow by then.
