Look at a P-85 for your Cat. I ran one on a 13 M800 with a 925, worked very well. I bought it through Racin Station in Driggs, ID. Also had a 911 cover installed on it. Best part is everything is serviceable(bushings, buttons, etc.)
Thanks, and you’re correct, I am kinda picky about whom I ride with. Been in The backcountry for a few decades, fixed a lot of sleds on the hill that the owner simply didn’t maintain, or had to patch them up as they had no respect for the hazards of the terrain/conditions, regardless whether...
Thx for the replies. It’s dialed in the way I like (for me), so I guess my best bet is to keep the sled and wait for better opportunities to ride, rather then buy a a stock sled and start over making it mine.
I'm contemplating listing my 2017 Arctic Cat King Cat as I haven't had the opportunity to ride for the last two seasons. Ascender chassis, which means it has the drop and rolled chaincase, etc. More or less the same sled as a 2018 Sidewinder MTX or 2018 King Cat other then color and some plastic...
Not denying the Team clutches could be better. Obviously I replaced my outer cover with a 911 unit and balanced my primary, which I would (and have) done to every sled (excluding the TRA’s). Back in those days, I budgeted a belt for every weekend. They all have problems, period.
New colors and graphics from all manufacturers. Doo will make minimal changes, as will Cat / Yamaha. Polaris will likely incorporate the Matrix plastics onto the mountain lineup. That’s all I expect to see...
Can’t comment on the M1100 vertical post, but I used one from a Viper on my King Cat, and told the M7000 fits as well. Seems to me the tripod mounts are different on the 1100...
I haven't been out this season, but in my experience Mc Bride has got the friendliest people on the planet, so much that my wife and I are planning tomove there in the next couple years...
I ran 3" tracks on my 07 M1000. 07 & 08's needed the track clips on the inside of the rail (or flat clips to clear the diamond drive). I ended up with a VE tunnel and U-cooler, rocking a 3" Powerclaw track on mine at the end... Newer units (A friend has one) used the X3 track as the tunnel...
Made my own, and it’s pretty bulky, but fits in my pack. Basically crammed in an Alberta #1 kit, along with a CPR mask, Bivy sac and emergency blanketand some ibuprofen, gravol, and tylenol #1s with codeine. Splints are easily made in the field, and in the event of an emergency, it’s life over...
You make a good point - I should. I suppose I’m a bit stubborn in my old age. I wear a avy pack, though I stay clear of terrain traps, etc. I hope to never have to deploy it...
Not whining. And sure as hell not a millennial, either. Left home with $50 in my pocket, worked hard the past 40 years to put bread on the table, never been on EI. I’m glad you’re in a “better” spot, I don’t wish misfortunes on anyone. Any suggestions?
You didn’t mention rider weight and style, but for the average 180 lb intermediate rider I would suggest 55/150 psi, 13 clicks out as a good starting point. 5 psi in either chamber makes a big difference. It’s a good idea to take notes when you adjust from the baseline, as it’s easy to loose...
At the risk of getting flamed, here’s my thought: If you don’t want a tunnel bag, make damn sure you are wearing a pack large enough to carry ALL the essentials to survive 2 days/nights in the backcountry, including a first aid kit that contains ore then a band-aid. In the thirty plus years I’ve...
