Just wondering what coolant everyone is using in their quads. I have the green one but heard the orange is better?? What's everyone's thoughts? I found my quad quick to overheat when the rad was full maybe better coolant would make it run a little longer.
Damn that's high. I remember last year it was steep to get up the bank once you crossed and I would scrape my mud flaps and my bumper had hardly any clearance because of the angle lol. Guess I won't have that problem this year :)
One of the best rallies I have been at! It was great to meet some of the trouble makers on the forum! Huge thanks to everyone involved with getting this organized and making the day go so smooth. All the volunteers did a fantastic job and it was great to see so many sponsors help out. The...
It starts at 10AM and last rider is allowed out until 12PM. How bad is it raining at outwest? bad as here in Edmonton? I'm happy I'm not going out till tomorrow morning because setting up a tent will suck in the rain :)
So I took my quad out and rode it like a rental and there is still a little oil getting into the air box but not as much as before. So probably removing the felt filter on the breather helped but is not the problem. As Quadboy said it will probably be the labyrinth plate.
So I will be taking in my quad to the dealer I got it from next week. but in the mean time I figured I would try the suggested easy fixes mentioned in other forums. I changed the oil and filter and then cleaned out the air box more and installed a new air filter and pre-filter. I then removed...
Well seems like the solution is to remove the breather filter and then there will be enough air flow to stop the vacuum. Or don't drive at high speeds and avoid the rpms and then there is no problem... nah who wants to drive slow!
Guess if you want to call it good news... at least tons of others are having this exact same problem and look like there are few potential fixes which I will try out. I can't test them though because I need a new air filter the one I have is totally oiled.
Apparently this is a common problem with all 850 XPs.
oil in air box - Polaris ATV Forum
Guess it's when you ride it at high speeds the engine creates massive amounts of vacuum and sucks the oil into the air box.
Today I decided to sit down with my service manual and go over my quad to learn about it and see where everything is. I dielectric greased all the electronics I could get at and made sure all the fluids were full for everything. I lubed up all the A arms front and back. Then I wanted to check...
I have a Polaris 850 and its a single rider quad but I ride 2up with my GF all the time and I have gone up and down some steep hills with no problems. One thing you want to make sure is when your mounting the passenger seat try your best to get it mounted so the passenger would be sitting before...
