You really just need to ensure what ever you’re using is 60hz output. A standard generator runs at 1800 or 3600 rpm to achieve 60hz where an inverter will output 60hz at any RPM. When using any generator it’s best to let it stabilize before switching in the output power. It’s when you get into...
Anyone ever think about a grid tie inverter with batteries? I bet for about 7000$ I could set one up in n my place. If the grid dropped the inverter would just take over. Wouldn’t even see a flicker. Once grids back on it would charge your batteries back up. If down longer than 24hrs you would...
I think it’s an access issue in winter. Not sure how far out they are but plowing would get costly I figure. I always wondered why they didn’t stock pile all winter so they had a summers worth of yardage waiting for spring.
That’s how I built mine. I have a 10000 kubota diesel, 8 450a/h 6v batteries and a 48v 4500w inverter charger in an 8x8 shed. Put it across the driveway and away from cabin just for the fire reason.
This cold sucks. It’s been non stop chasing issues trying to keep plants and wells going. Just got a call for 3 compressors that the coolers won’t start. Keep tripping overloads on the fan motors. Now we have the Herman Nelson’s going just to heat the motors and fan bearings to get them to start...
If you’ve ever rode with him it’s crazy how he just knows where to go. He’s like a human GPS. Him and Dennis have really helped motivate my son to starting to get his courses for guiding. He’s only 14 and that’s all he can talk about now. They are definitely good for promoting the sport.
Tough slugging up there. It was a crazy mission they had planned and would have been awesome if it worked out but they had some crazy weather thrown at them. Skirting the caribou closures really makes the access difficult.
I think spring will be alright. Valley will melt out fast and where you would normally get patches to deep to drive through will be gone early allowing you to drive higher directly to the snow line. That’s my hope anyway
