    Golden and Area 2017/2018

Rode Silent for my first time Dec. 30th with a couple of guys from the forum here (HUGE thank you to Barry & Curtis). Blue skies most of the day, deep fresh powder everywhere we went and great company to ride with. I only get 6-7 days in the mountains each year and have less than 40 under my...

Riding Golden Dec. 29,30,31 Jan.1 - Looking for guides or riding buddies

update to my plans: In Golden riding the following: Dec29 - ride with my wife. Would have to be pretty tame riding, very little off-trail as her sled (2017 850 Renegade 137 x 1.75") and skill set are both limited Dec30 - riding solo. I want to see steep/deep/trees/etc. I'm not extreme but I...

Riding Golden Dec. 29,30,31 Jan.1 - Looking for guides or riding buddies

My wife's sled is no doubt limited when we take it West....gotta stick close to the trail with her but if we could find some powder filled meadows that would be perfect for her to learn how to carve. I always carry full avy gear and I've been to Golden before. I'm thinking Westbench one day with...

Riding Golden Dec. 29,30,31 Jan.1 - Looking for guides or riding buddies

The wife and I are coming to Golden over the Xmas/New Year holiday this year. Plan on riding Dec29-Jan1st inclusive. Have ridden Golden a couple times before but definitely don't know the area well enough to be exploring too far on my own. I see Rocky Mountain Riders and Golden Snowmobile...

THE ANWSER TO BOOST silber tubro 850 kit.

I'm not sure but if you do get it installed you should check back here with a report on how it works. I'm likely putting a turbo on my 17, but not until year after next.

motor mount shim kit for 17 Summit

where can a guy get motor mount shims for the 850? I had no issues with my belts (or anything else for that matter) on my 17 last season but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure...or something like that.

Sled & Fish opportunity in Golden, looking for help

Thanks, I sent an email a few days ago to him and never got a response, thus the reason I posted on snowandmud. However, after looking in my junk folder it seems like we do have a dialogue going now.

Sled & Fish opportunity in Golden, looking for help

Is there anyone in the area who would be able to help me out.....I'm brining my gf to Golden for a 3 day vacation on Dec 29/30/31 to go riding, we're from Northern Manitoba. Problem is, she hasn't been bitten by the sled bug yet and prefers fishing about 100x more than riding (women are crazy...

    Anyone change there rear bumper?

I have had the BRP HD rear bumper on my 165 since day 1 and it has been excellent. I consider it a definite upgrade over the stock bumper that is so flimsy my dog could bend it by sneezing on it, lol.....I have heard of a few guys having their bumper break at the seams though so it seems to be a...

    Fernie Winter 2016-2017

After staging from Coal the other day I decided to go from Morrisey today. Much better idea since the trail is groomed up to the cat ski turn off about halfway up. Rode the pipeline, dodging in and out of the trees, went to the notch and worked our way a few miles further from there. Conditions...

    Golden 2016/2017

Anyone able to take a rider out tomorrow? I'm currently in Fernie but have heard conditions in Golden are much better than here. Here actually isn't that bad once you make it above 5500' but the trail up is horrendous. I'm looking to make the drive North for a day to slay some pow. On a 2017...

    Fernie Winter 2016-2017

Rode today, staged at Coal, rode around 6000' for the short time we stayed out. Trail is quite possibly the worst I've seen anywhere but it wasn't too bad at elevation. Not super deep and there is a hard crust/slab/concrete underneath but still enough snow to dip a ski and hit a windlip or two...

    Fernie Winter 2016-2017

To anyone and everyone in the Fernie area....my gf and I are riding the 28th, 29th & 30th of March. I've been to the area many times before but am usually led by a guide so my knowledge of the area is pretty much limited to pipeline, notch, rolling hills. My gf (very much a beginner, we will...

Do you own an 850, Have you broken a Bulkhead

    (2) 850s, 1 165X and 1 Renegage 137. Both sleds have ran amazingly well. Hardly any issues so far. Aux plug in on both sleds have blown fuses, I've had my hand/thumb warmers and headlight switches freeze a few times but nothing that couldn't be broken free of the surrounding ice pretty easily...

Eagle Valley / Sicamous Updates 2016/17

10 of us from Saskatchie came by and rode the 10/11/12. Eagles 10th & 11th (awesome! first day guided and went pretty deep in...2nd day unguided, stayed within 3 km of the cabin and found deep untouched all day long) and Blue Lake on the 12th. Blue was pretty awesome too, although I think Eagles...

Different sledding zones in Fernie area

Is Hartley Lake open all winter? Sounds like the place to go in Fernie to get into the alpine (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Different sledding zones in Fernie area

I'm coming to Fernie over New Years this winter and am wondering what are the different riding areas? I've been a few times but not in years and I'm pretty sure we always stuck to the Hills/pipeline/notch. I've read about Hartley Lake but the description says trucks need chains so that rules my...
