I was wondering about that. I wrote my MLA requesting change in legislation to have them move to the "sticker plate" like BC has. Because they took pics of my sled I know if I run into the same CO's again that they would ticket me for not having it mounted. So I'll figure out a spot to put...
So how is everyone mounting plates? I'm thinking of getting a "sticker" of my plate made up and put it on my sled and just carry the actual plate in my pack.
These CO's went up to retrieve a sled that they suspect was stolen. It was on the Holt side buried up to the handle bars. They dug it out and were trying to check it out but apparently the serial and VIN numbers were off and it had been painted
I saw another thread on here about a run in with some CO's...couldn't find it...but I had a very different experience.
We were sitting on the side of the trail at Gorman at the end of the day, they approached us on their way past asking for all the information.
Most of my group was prepared...
thats good to know, thank you. I've been keeping an eye out. I was hoping to get him one last year but a huge house reno prevented me. Maybe this year I can find one for him. He already LOVES sledding, haha. I have a video of me asking him what a snowmobile says...he responds...they say...
My one nephew turns 3 this summer. Is a 120 too big for him? I'd really like to get him a small snowmobile that can be passed onto his baby brother. :)
I'm 90% sure I saw this just off of Ogden road the other day here in Calgary. I was darn close to trying to flag you down, if it was indeed you, lol. Like barefooter said, I too have been drooling over Earthroamers for a few years. Would love to see it.
Beautiful set up.
I found myself in a similar situation over the holidays, smoked a tree, a huge hunk of snow from the tree completely knocked me off my sled and somehow I wound up in the well underneath my sled. Used my BCA to call for some assistance. Very useful tool!
hey imdoo'n, I've only used it a couple times and no issues so far. I've found some guys willing to do a controlled over night test. Once we get around to it I'll let you know if I have issues.
Over the holidays we didn't spend the time making a trail on this one spot and instead opted for...
I haven't heard anything more about these. I also do not know anyone using them personally. Neat concept but as RGM mentioned, you can buy a SAT phone for that price.
lol thanks for the clarification!
This is the Jetboil I have. Fairly compact, good to heat up food, melt snow and could be used to heat up a small snow cave too.
What it looks like set up.
I got the Bivvy sacks at Bass pro I believe (had them for a while now). I personally like carrying a nice small one in my pack but having a larger one on the sled just in case. The orange hand smoke signal I ordered in from Bow Ridge in Cochrane. At the time I was looking I had a heck of a...

Happened to have th sled still loaded from yesterday and out at the folks for a family gathering. No one else in my family does Motorsports so I took extreme pleasure in bringing my nephew for a putt around while we had a fire. He loved it but I think I loved bringing him more! Cheers and happy...
Agreed Erik! If a daily update is too much of a PITA...maybe a weekly one. It is fun to read along and see the pics. I say keep it going if it's something you enjoy doing.
