Valemount and Blue River can only manage so many riding areas, then it isn't feasible. You can ride any unmanaged crown land as long as it isn't closed to sledding because of Caribou habitat or Heli / snowmobile tour tenures.etc.

This technique is super hard on your chain case. It puts a TREMENDOUS pressure on your adjusting bolt and block. I wouldn't be surprised if your buddy has no warranty coverage on that.
From my experience, a decent underlay with carpet is suitable.
