Check both mfg's. Been doing a few things to the little guys ZR200 and found Yamaha and Cat prices are different. Sometimes Cat is cheaper, sometimes Yamaha depending on part. Some springs, jets, etc are oddly enough only offered by one and.not the other.
For commonality, like the 600ace compared to the 900ace, lop another cylinder off and make a fuel injected 300 single. Put a light PB50 for a primary. 15in wide 120in long would prob go pretty far. Noncoupled simple skid, go for light weight
One thing which I could see Doo doing, which is, or isn't major, pending how you look at it, is offering a longer warranty on the 850T now that it's proven and has some miles on it. Then again, with how it sold, no one seems overly concerned so why should they stick their neck out for it?
Stan and Ian are awesome to deal with! I bought the little fellers 200 from them. If I rode a Cat I would do business with these guys without question.
Closest thing I've ever ridden to a Phazer has been a Freestyle/RF chassis with the 32" front end. Super light, takes very little body english to get it to maneuver and just floats. I have a couple and the one with a 1.6" track is almost impossible to get stuck providing you aren't climbing a...
LRD on Dootalk was very inspirational to me in the mid 2000's with his theory of going super light vs super big power. He ended up with a 146" 550F bored out to a 629. It made about 85hp and weighed around 350lbs if I remember right. He was very much ahead of the game at the time and was a...
If you can't find someone on here and have facebook, try 306 Rider's Union. I'll keep my ears open, originally from the area and still have family and friends there.
We spent alot of time riding between me and my boys. Youngest just turned 6 and is on a sped up Z120. Middle guy is 8 and is on his ZR200. I ride one of our freestyle 300's when we go out. Lots more confidence this year, hence lots more learning! 120 is on tank #23, 200 is on tank 16.
I won't bother commenting on power because the Cat does rum well. Less than full throttle.power the 850's have more.
But, ride any Etec motor and both the Cat and Polaris 2 strokes feel a generation behind in run quality and throttle response.
I've owned nearly everything available out there at some point in terms of shocks. While air is super light and adjustable, unless you plan to spend the time to properly dial them in in a range of conditions amd temperatures, you're not going to get everything out of them. There is no way I...
I think we'll see some subtle changes.
I think Cat and Yamaha will stand put. There was too much uncertainty until late this fall of where they could or could not sell sleds and I bet this causes some supply chain issues, in addition to other supply chain issues, and will take a year to sort...
They could get half way there with the implementation of rack steering. Doo used this on their RS's for a number of years and with a bit of modification, worked really well in the XM's!
It's prob good. This one went with a 2.5in - fellas preference with doing dual elevation. Needed drivers and gearset, but still kept stock chaincase.
This was a Walen tune with essentially all the trim to run on pump without issue. Motor is capable of 3-400 they say with internals, but it's...
Of course! Its about a 220hp job. Not as simple as a winder, bit still pretty simple. Power feel is about the same.
Neither the ACE of the Winder at 220hp feel as strong as a 1200 as 220hp. The torque of the 1200 is that much stronger. It's like comparing a Cummins to a Hemi IMO.
Atleast this guy is honest...
