Cataract Creek Snowmobile Trails offical thread 2016/17

The group of us that usually heads up there first ride of the year hasn't been up there yet. The low snow down low scared us away. We were letting others beat on their sleds this year. Maybe it's doable now after this last shot of snow out there.

Cataract Creek Snowmobile Trails offical thread 2016/17

Just got back from taking a drive out to cataract and etherigton staging area. Maybe 2 inch's of snow in parking lots. No fresh from this storm. Two guys were heading out from etherigton and said they would give a better update later. I personally think it's a storm or two away from riding out...

Trail is not marked well. Not a good place to take beginners or if you haven't been there before. Creek crossings, side hill spots, hills, rocky sections and potential for Avalanches. The trail system itself out there is a great place for beginners

    Garage pads

Air entrained concrete is not to be polished finished. Actually on the inside of attached garages the whole thing is dug out. That's why they put piles in. In Calgary anyways.

    Garage pads

We're each spot of 3 cracks is probably a pile. Usually they are marked on the concrete wall where they are. This is common in new home construction. The houses are back filled with frozen ground if done in winter or not compacted properly in spring summer. Then the pad is prepped and...

    Tandem Tow setup

ya i think i would try to bring the front of your quad trailer down a few inches. I think it would be better tipped forward vs backwards...... and making sure you have decent hitch weight on it.(looks like it does). I don't think your 5th wheel sits any worse for angle then mine did. But ya i...

    Tandem Tow setup

I b train quite often. Every once and a while I can tell there is another trailer on there or slight chugging. I don't get any swaying. I had my dad fallow me for two hours on highway and said it was straight as an arrow. I use no sway bars or hitch attachments. Both my boat and sled trailer...

Cataract Creek Snowmobile Area Thread for 2014/15

I looked into this about 3 years ago. It's ok to do if your out there snowmobiling for the weekend. I brought my 5th wheel and two place trailer and camped at the cataract Creek staging area and had no problems. Rangers were around as well. There is no free firewood at staging area unless you...
