this is maybe something that a lot of people dont think about or realize where the lakes even are. I know of several at the Renshaw I am careful of but I bet a lot dont in the early season. I also know the difference between slush/ flooding and thin ice. Oops wrong thread!
something i always wondered about is when mountain lakes are safe to ride on,
Here in Alberta we get colder temps and the lakes freeze up pretty quick generally bit up in the alpine it always seems milder and a lot more snow blanketing things so I always feel nervous about riding on them...
thanks guys for the info, I wear a can am sea doo glove on warmer days, they are thinner and obviously good when wet and dont blister my hands like the mechanix gloves.

e selling these? I had heard someone out of red deer was selling them or something similar. Apparently great when digging out stuck sleds
when touring as a group difficulty level is based on the least experienced in the group, if they cant go there we cant either, nobody can take off alone but this has happened and we have left sleds on the mountain overnight (riders were retreived) , if someone is seperated we converge and leave...
k, i know about Ministik but I heard Leduc has some trails, maybe Lily Lake, just wondering of any close spots to edmonton where i could get a couple hours in on my sled, if there is any snow left and where I could stage without being hassled by the law - would really appreciate some tips on...
so thanks again for all the feedback, this happened somewhere around 2008-2010, well before the new owners got involved - I have been contacted by Specialty and we agree it wasnt the current ownership group that was responsible. I did make contact with someone recommended on here to have the...
thanks for the feedback - my post wasnt meant to trash anyone - this was a few years ago and doubt i would have my invoice still. I appreciate the comments left here.
thanks for the feedback I wont ever deal with specialty after the $250 preseason I was quoted turned out to be $950 for basically nothing, He tried to justify it by saying he replaced my hifax and a few other misc bull**** stuff he made up. He couldnt prove the hifax and they were still...
07's had belt issues too, I got no free belts from BRP. Even after bitching. I have paid for at least 12 belts since I bought that sled. Do the math 12 x $155 =OUCH. when they upgraded for the 08's the cost went to $185. Oil went from about $40-45 to $55-58 over about 2 years. Hmmmm..... How...
dont have one yet but after seeing how nice buddys 650 was to use and enter type and how nice the maps etc were to read, very user friendly, I will for sure be upgrading.
carry it in your pocket or pack and no issues with cold.
anyone have any suggestions for an alternate to the challenger lite? I need a new track but don't want to spend the $$ on a new stock one as they fly apart after a couple seasons. Looking for a good alternate that uses the stock drivers etc.
