100%. I think there are too many people watching videos and thinking they can ride. Then hop on a sled with a bunch of HP and no talent. Then blame the sled. There are truly not many people that can actually ride a 180hp sled to its potential. Buddy ditching his (2) turbos after a quick spin on...
One more thing, the sledders you do get on board, are going to be your best adversaries going forward. Anyone they bring, will get educated, and anyone they see will get educated. Thats how it is at some other places close by.
I think the best way forward woukd be to get a diverse group to come out right after seasons end. Do a little suggested sled recon for potential routes, and get a good understanding of ski routes, and how they are affected. Come up with a couple amicable routes to be mapped with some GPS...
Ive been running this set for about 3 years. The chargers and batteries were some surplus stuff i got through a buddy. There isn't much for markings on them. I think they are similar to RC cars, or kids toys. I have a few left at $60.
I dont have them on my phone. I will not be by my sled till the end of next to get some better pics. The pic above shows the charger with 12v supply. I splice the TT power supply into the line between charger box and the battery. (You should be able to see the TT power cord in the pic). Do you...
Regulator will not help. You will need to find a 12v charger for the battery your using, and plug into the doo 12v adaptor kit. You cant just add a battery to the loop as they dont charge. See below, i tried adding the battery alone, and it just goes dead and does not charge. I keep the actual...
I know the area very well, and I know how sledders traverse terrain. Without suggested routes with soft boundaries, people are going to explore. and rest assured, more will be coming your way. If they don't know what are your runs, and what may be a "suggested path" you will continue to have...
Hi AC, what are you saying when you say "clubs should not be promoting areas they do not manage". Your area and area 51 and not the same area. I have been following this thread, and I think your actually enticing more people to come your way, rather than riding area 51 through its normal access...
Hopefully more people hear the story and sign up for some training. Even a little practice with the beacon goes a long ways. Shovelling technique is also important. Glad it turned out the way it did.
I have a 7.3 gas ford. I like the truck, the motor pulls hard, but not like a diesel. Its better on gas that my 2017 f350 diesel was. It will tow 10,000 lbs no problem. Jist try to keep it under 115kmh. Anything over 120 towing, and it will burn 120lt in 450km. By buddies 2022 chevy diesel is...
I love this banter. If you don't like the tech, don't use it. But don't judge others who do. Its the next best thing to eyes on. There are 100s of people who like to spread out when covering terrain, and in some technical areas sometimes the available lines don't allow eyes on. If you have good...
