I think the main issue is the helix. Its to much helix in the mid/top end. With a 48/36 you are almost never in the first or last number, so it acts like a 47/37. In deep snow you are trying to pull to much angle. Those full progressive helix's are also notorious for slow backshift. Ideally...

The 3.2 is OK. it folds with power tho. I have ran the alpha track, the power claw 3", the X3, X3.2, Conquorer 2.80 and the skidoo 3". The Alpha and Skidoo 3" are the 2 best tracks

Exactly. When you go from 40mph track speed to 55+ mph track speed, things start to get easier. Gets up on snow faster, maintains ground speed longer and allows you some forgiveness if you do hit a tight spot and have to slow right down or stop.
