Not all all. Silber is the only tuning available that increases the oil pump to support the change. Routing the oil up around the motor mount and up to the turbo has been working great for years. They introduced this in 2016 on the axys 800.
Good Morning
Here's a quick install video to watch to help anyone who has bought a 9R/850 turbo kit. Takes me roughly 5hrs to install. 173hp to 225hp. (On a 9R at 7lbs)
Time will tell. On paper it should. The Gen 5 turbo R with clutching and tuning is fast too. Ill be testing the Shredder on a Big tune (20hp on 50% Av and 94) this season to see how it performs as well. At that power level i think the Doo will be faster... see how it goes.
If the weather holds up and we continue to get some snow, I should have the 858 for the vintage ride in Mcbride. Will be testing N/A clutching and a few other improvements. Then going to install a silber turbo and test at 7psi.
The 9" wheel will reduce track drag and allow the track to free spin easier, vs an 8" or 7.25" wheel. It will reverse easier and supports the track better with increase circumference.
I have stock for the polaris and skidoo options.
In this case its not just bigger is better:
Ther 3" track is a 3.5" pitch which allows more snow to be pulled in between each paddle. It also makes the track lighter with less overall lugs on the track.
The 2.5" is 2.86" pitch so it loses traction on lug height and how much snow can fit in...
21/53 = 102KMH track speeds at 1-1 shift. If your running a 154 or 165 this is the ideal ratio if your running a tune or close to the Gen5 HP level.
19/53 = 92 KMH track speed at 1-1 shift. This is too low for a 154 or 165. Would work with a 175 tho.
Silber has a few kits built and tested on various models. Pretty impressive numbers for pump gas. 7psi of boost on 91 with options for better cams.
Let me know if you would like to order a kit.
The secondary builds heat with the 157/303 secondary spring and the straight 40 helix. For lower elevation riding, a multi angle helix is needed with a 160/310 primary spring. Slight increase of pin weight as well to get extra squeeze for the lower elevation. I have set ups available if needed...
