I guess a better question would have been is "what good" come out of that thread? It certain did not show this group in a positive way.
I doubt that anyone new to this site would feel comfortable posting after the lynching that fellow took.
Thank you Mods!
Sorry, I understand that, but many people don't realize the high cost of snowmobile parts (I didn't). I was just trying to save him money in the long run, not trying to be a jerk.
Technology has come a long way, it will cost you twice as much to build an old sled as to buy a newer one and you would still only have half the machine in the end.

There was a booth at the Edmonton sled show selling a magazine subscription for $10. I paid them but haven't received anything. Does anyone know which magazine it was? I would like to get hold of them but don't remember who it was.
Just bought a set of "Ice Storms" after reading all the positive feed back. I love them and wish I had bought them earlier. I thought all scratchers were the same but my sled does run cooler now. Highly recommended.
Thanks to the people on here that reviewed them and "Teth-air" for the great...
Was at Atlas on Friday and there wasn't a lot of snow, okay if you just want trails. Went to Fernie on Saturday and it was good . Then we rode York on Sunday and it was okay, much better then Atlas.

I would have loved to buy a Rino 650 (x2), but it was cost prohibitive, were as most in our group could afford the BCA.I guess it all boils down to what you can to spend. That said, I do like the BCA.
I understand and respect people being leery of having strangers come to there home, but I wouldn't buy anything out of the back of a truck. The way I look at it, I cover my ass first.
It is easy to install ( if you have a little mechanical ability) and the man at Holtzman is very helpful if you have any questions or problems. You should visit their website for info. but basically set up your sled for the altitude you normally ride and the Atacc system makes changes when you...
I like mine
There is a new one for sale in the gear/clothing section for $180. I bought mine when they did a group buy on here last year and got a great deal.
Inreach offers an optional insurance in case you have to be air-lifted out. Does anyone know if it would be necessary or does the Government cover something like that?
