Belt #2 blew today.
- belt lasted 50-60 km. No real riding, just cruising around first 2 days (had gf out on her sled on her 1st day .. so just dug her out all day)
- more or less settled snow, no big hills, no big pulls
- belt broken in properly
- clutches cold to the touch before and right...
Anyone else having problems with the kill switch ? basically not killing the engine
I have mine pointing down .. and I've had it like that on my last 2 XMs and this one
i hit it, nothing happens, sometimes takes 5 seconds till engine dies .. sometimes i have to hit it and pull it a few times...
Anyone else's clutch howl really loud .. mostly notice it while cruising on the trail
I havent' modified my belt guard (all the foam and felt is stilll on it)
but I took the foam out from inside the panel
Having a "cold spell" here .. and by "cold" i mean maybe -10 C at the most, so not really that cold
went out for a gentle ride because I'm too afraid to ride it hard until the belt issues are sorted out.. didn't hit anything, didn't roll the sled, didn't jump it, didn't do anything exciting...
After I blew my belt it left a giant mess on my clutches . I rode home on my spare belt and when I got there I could see only half the primary was scrubbed clean.
I find the front of the running boards to quite lacking of traction
Have you done something to improve yours ?
ideas ?
pics ?
I'm going to add the toe holds because I used them all the time so that will probably help ...
What is everyone getting for max rpm ?
your gauge will show you the recorded max rpm if you cycle through it
I just read 8491 on mine .. on clicker 3
Could be a cause of the belt issue .. going to look for a weight kit, and in the meantime clicker down to 1
goodwin has kits out for the 850...
I cleaned the crap out of my clutches and washed my belt and set my belt height every ride, and broke it in nice and did the whole song and dance .. she still blew !
venting will help, but it's bandaid .. problem is elsewhere and will hopefully be diagnosed and addressed by brp (not by 3rd...
I blew mine at 270 km .. looked good as new before then. no belt dust and I cleaned my clutches and washed my belt and adjusted deflection and all that jazz
word on the street is you gotta take out all the foam / felt and cut a piece from the bottom of belt guard to let it cool better.. it...
