I have a HI/LO trans in my scrambler from a 2001 xplorer works well. The xplorer trans is the way to go if running big tires. I think the 6x6 runs the same trans, mostly a bolt in with a few mods.
Anyone going out quadding on sunday west of cremona or water valley?
Let me know where your going, I need to take my machine out, its looking too clean!
you can get that sprocket at polaris or many aftermarket places rocky mountain atv, denis kirk etc. Just count the number of teeth so you get the right one. Your chain and rear sprocket might be toast too?
you can get a hi/lo trans out of a used polaris xplorer. You just have to use the correct year. the older scramblers/xplorers were chain drive front. the newer scramblers/xplorers were shaft drive front. The trans bolts in but there are a few minor mods required. I have already done this on...
That tire combo will work, but not the way I would go. If your running 24s on the rear I would go with either 24s on the front or 25s on the front. The scrambler comes with a slightly taller tire on the front in stock trim, because it is 4wd if you change tire diameters front or rear it can...
with 25's you don't have to do any mods, but a clutch kit will help with power and minimizing belt slip. I would also consider going to a polaris "razor" belt its much better than the factory scrambler belt. As for tires I'd try and stick to light tires IMHO mud lites are decent and very light...
what year of scrambler? what motor 500 or 400? 27s wont bolt on. about the biggest you can get on the rear is a 25. if you want bigger you need to either lengthen the swing arm or modify the floor boards. (not enough room between tire and floor boards). They would probably fit on the front...
I was just curious what is out there, I am interested mostly in cross country or hare scrambles. I have a 2002 scrambler 4x4 2 stroke. I wouldn't do good on an mx track too heavy, but works great on the trail
behind the flywheel there is a pulse coil that sends power to the cdi, could be a problem there. otherwise 2 sugestions get a polaris manual on ebay I've seen them for $30 or go to "gen3usa.com" they know about all there is to know about scramblers
Its a bit of a project I've been considering. Taking my 2002 scrambler and putting the newer style (2005+up) sportsman front end in. I'd like to do it if I can find the parts. The newer front end has the hilliard in the diff, the old system has the hilliard in both front hubs. If anyone has...
I am looking for either a non running sportsman or a front end from a 2005-2008 Anyone know where I can find one of these machines or even a good quad wrecker that would have the parts. thanks
Hi I am looking for a 2005-2008 sportsman that is not running or a sportsman front end (diff hubs etc) I will pay cash let me know what you have... thanks
Hi, I'm new here, looks like a great site. I ride a 2002 polaris scrambler X 4x4 416cc big bore 2 stroke with lots of mods. Looks like a lot of good info here. Maybe I'll meet some of you on the trail!
