They were bad for cracking near the transfer ports. Look closely for that. Also they had a reputation of getting too little oil at lower rpms. Most guys cranked up the oiler 2 turns. Additionally you will notice that the oil tank cap is on an angle and the breather only opens when the ball...
Well this is Snow and Mud so we should have some content. Post your season photos here. Mine are from a 22 km road ride last weekend. 18" of snow only.
I went to a big wheel kit specifically for 2 things. First as said earlier, it makes the sled back up better in the powder. Secondly I was having an issue with some tracks that bulged really bad at the rear wheels and actually had 2 replaced under warranty due to splitting. The big wheels...
I predict the real story will be the amount of green house gases that will be released from the eruption. It will be equivilent to more than 500 years of man's contributions. And then there will be no noticable climate change measured from it.
Matt seems to have come around to appreciating the longer tracks. The young guys will find out the hard way what many of us seasoned riders learned a long time ago. Only difference is more power and traction from shorter tracks these days. Still, floatation is flotation.
It's always doom and gloom yet somehow I always seem to have a good time. It's easy to predict the worst because if you are right you can gloat and if you are wrong people forget because they are happy.

Other than fast spin up of the track, moving the skid back seems pointless as the manueverability of a short track sled is lost and the weight on the skis is increased.
I saw him post a comment where he said the Doo for deeper days and the Poo for the not so deep, technical stuff. I wonder if the Series 9 track will even that up a bit? I think a 146 with the heavy weight of the Lynx will be a mistake, especially if we get a deep snow year.
Exactly. The 850 N/A is a really good motor with more warranty and lower price. I wish it had the light crank but I can work around that with clutching/gearing to keep the motor rpm's just under the exhaust valve opening while cruising. This makes it respond fast when I grab a handful.
