They are saying the last shooter left a letter in someone’s mailbox along with ammo the morning he was going to kill Trump. In it he offered anyone $150,000 if he was unsuccessful. They found in his house notebooks on how to drive to Mexico from Palm Beach, Florida as well as Trumps schedule for the past couple weeks and in the future.

Them and Fox News showed it was an sks with electrical tape for mounted scope. Yeah that makes the 300 yard shot pretty hard with this piece.

Still stand by this? I can tape a scope to an sks and you can show us what a shooter you are?
Well now that we found out the circumstances I guess you get to play Monday morning quarterback don’t you? If it’s mounted properly and set up for the distance I stand by my comment.

Well we must be shooting completely different sks rifles then. I haven't seen one that could put two holes through a pie plate at 100yds nevermind 300.
And ak47s don't have scopes so that's why my first comment was what it was.

But if you can shoot moa targets at 300 with one I'd like to see it.

I don’t own an SKS but have shot an an AK at a gun range. We weren’t shooting that far out though. I just know what you can research? In the right hands it’s doable with a properly mounted and calibrated scope . Whether he is the right guy both you and I don’t know. IMG_7575.jpeg

Fair enough. I've shot several sks rifles and in my opinion the effective range would be 25-50yds max of 100.

I just really wanted to see someone shoot 300 and make hits. That's all.

The Russian requirement for accuracy of the AK-47 was 5 MOA, although 4 MOA is the generally accepted accuracy they can reasonably achieve. Would it work? Probably. But using 4 MOA at 300 yards your projectile could land anywhere within a 12.5" circle, before accounting for; wind, gyroscopic procession, Coriolis effect, repeatability of the optics, and most importantly the skill of the shooter.

As I wrote many pages back, it seems like a dumb choice, when any off the shelf hunting rifle shoots more accurately.

That was kinda my point. 300yd head shot requires 2 moa or better. I'm just getting into precision shooting and already running out of guys to shoot with that I can learn from. Lots of talkers but not many that can back it up.

Coriolis effect has no impact for 300 yard shots. Starts showing up at around 1000 yards.
