Rhino 700 Radiator Relocate

I am just finishing up my rad relocate on my rhino and thought I would post some pics. I used 3/4 heater hose for the rad and 3/8 oil line for the oil cooler. I flared the ends of the oil lines where I cut them so they won't slip off under pressure and I made the brackets out of 3/4 x 1/8 flatbar. In total this only cost around $30 and an afternoon. I am still going to paint it and make a gaurd for the front to protect me from bumping it and the rads from rocks while hauling it on my trailer.

Hey puffer just wondering how this set up has been working for? Thinking of doing the same thing on mine. Noise? Do's and dont's?

It has been working perfectly for a year now! No more problems at all! The only downfall to it is it does restrict your vision a bit when backing up, but I look out the door instead. I would recomend moving the rad on any rhino that plays in the mud much! As far as do's and don'ts go, I really don't have many. Just tie your hoses up good and make sure there aren't any kinks and are not rubbing anywhere and go ride! You will never have to worry about a plugged rad again!

Yeah, they are next to impossible to get clean without pulling the rad after every ride. Moving it was way easier! LOL

I know. My last ride was the Edson rally and had to stop every .5 or so. Was very frustrating. I had a bit of a time getting the rad out but now that I know how to do it, it shouldn't be to bad for the next time.

I just can't figure out why the manufactures wouldn't put the rads as high as possible. Yamaha could have located the air box somewhere else and put the rad way up top.

Just an update > I mounted my rad pretty much just like puffer99's. I found that i had to order 7/8" heater hose 3/4 was to small and 3/8 as well for oil lines. Ran it up to temp and kicks in at 180 and within 20 sec. it quits and drops 20deg. Semms to be working awsome. Leaving for Kelowna i will post some pictures when i get back. Later

Moving the rads is a super idea and works very good but it sure is a pain in the ass routing heater hose's where they were not meant to go. At least on a Teryx, not sure how bad it is on other brands. The pics look good, pretty decent looking install.

Hey everyone!

'06 660 here and I love the set up Puffer99! Those rads are pretty tuff to keep clean of mud. I plan on relocating my rad too with a few ideas of my own. I will post those pictures when I am done. On another note, I built a quick little rad washer for less than a hundred bucks, 12v, pressurized and it all stores in a rubber maid container that fits under your drivers seat. Instead of stopping all the time I have found that if you strategically time when you rinse your rad (lunch break, beer break, close to water source, etc.), you can run all day with no problems. I will post more about that in another topic. Thanks for the great ideas !!!
