we were down there last weekend trails are good and you can still find somew bowls to play in .... was planning on going down again this weekend but we will see....
Was in crowsnest last week staged at powderkeg. plenty of snow on the trails. went to the plane crash and the snow was getting real sticky and soft. avalanche risk high so played int he lower trails and found some fresh? crusty snow. With the weather do not know what it would be like this weekend but should be rideable.
3 of us from Drumheller are thinking of riding on the Atlas trail on friday so if anyone has an upto date trail report it would greatly appreaciated also does anyone know what Fernie trails are like .
Just looked at the long range forcast looks like a number of days of snow comming so we called the trip off for a few days in hope of some fresh stuff, hope you guys have a good trip
conditions from Atlas staging area:
- about 3 inches of new from Wed night and Thursday morning. Blue bird in the afternoon.
- minimal powder to be found - hero snow - (softer in the trees).
- trails in good to moderate shape.
- heard a number of slides rumble - be careful.
The pictures posted at Mountain Memories (from Feb 19th) look to be close to what I experienced: atlas pics
