So how much cheaper weight can be dropped off this chassis? That sofa seat has to go.

It will be the same as the sidewinder:

Should be close to 50lbs for very little expense:

Seat
Battery
Cold Air Intake
Hood or Hood Mod
Headlight delete
Straight Pipe

Nice sled. Great features but for 20000$ not realistic. For that kind of coin should have 300hp. Love my M series but the yamaha merger is destroying Cat. Real disappointment. Might be time to start taking a look at other brands. Just my 2 cents.

I think this is a cool piece of iron. For me..no. It amazes me at how fast the market has changed. 5 years ago, you couldn't get out of the staging area without bumping into a half dozen Nytro's or Apex's built to be exactly this machine. Now, albeit late to the party, a manufacturer builds it for likely significantly less than what the aftermarket was building them for, and demand is minute. Crazy how fast things have changed.

Braswell at Artic Cat was talking about a 5 cylinder radial piston, five valve overhead push rod two stroke motor they are testing in a 375 lb sled. Expect some of these changes in 2017 and even more in 2018. This can be read in Snowtech Magazines Dec 2015 edition.
